Issues with three-way or four-way valves

Is it still necessary to design a bypass line like in control valves when using a three-way or four-way valve? Is this type of valve prone to high failure rates?
Wherever sealing is required, there will be an issue regarding the sealing life; otherwise, the system has to be shut down for maintenance, or a bypass has to be installed. This actually has nothing to do with what kind of valve is used!
This is rarely used with a bypass; think about it, tell me how to add one?
Three-way and four-way valves simply combine designs that previously required 2 or 3 valves to operate together into a single valve. If the location is important, why can’t it be added? But generally speaking, as long as proper maintenance is carried out during parking for repairs and attention is paid to replacing worn-out parts, there should be no major problems.
