Our newly built pilot plant contains many pipelines with DN12 and DN20 diameters. The operating pressure ranges from 0.1 MPA to 20.0 MPA, while the highest temperature can reach 430 degrees Celsius. According to some standards, pipelines with a nominal diameter of less than 25 are not considered pressure pipelines. So how should our situation be classified, given such high temperatures and pressures, as well as the presence of hydrogen-rich conditions? If it belongs to pressure pipelines, then how is it classified? I would appreciate it if the experts could share their opinions.

In a narrow sense, pressure pipelines refer only to those defined in the \"Catalogue of Special Equipment\" and the \"Regulations on Safety Supervision of Pressure Pipelines\", representing **the part that is subject to regulation**. 2. Pressure pipelines in the general sense fall within the scope of engineering design, covering a broader range. It includes not only the parts that are under supervision as specified in the \"Catalogue of Special Equipment\" and the \"Regulations on Safety Supervision of Pressure Pipelines\", but also those parts that are not under supervision yet fall within the scope of application of the relevant standards. The specific scope of application is specified in various standards, such as GB50316, GB/T20801, ASME B31.3, etc. 3. Pressure pipelines in a broad sense cover a wider range, including those pipes that are not covered or are not applicable under the standards, such as those used in skid-mounted equipment, offshore engineering, **industrial applications, and other fields. According to the definitions in the \"Catalogue of Special Equipment\" and the \"Regulations on Safety Supervision of Pressure Pipelines\", the pipelines you mentioned do not fall under the category of pressure pipelines; therefore, there is no need for classification, nor is it necessary to stamp them as pressure pipelines on the design drawings. However, the design still needs to comply with the technical requirements for pressure pipelines.
The specifications have been updated; now, anything below DN50 is not considered, and monitoring or inspection is not required regardless of the parameters. However, it still needs to be designed; you can’t just do it on your own, as that will cause problems if something goes wrong.
