Hello everyone, please look at the diagram below – what are the differences between these two welding methods? Which one has a better load-bearing capacity for the scaffold? Why? Thank you.
Type I has a higher bearing capacity, as the circumferential weld around the root is longer than that in Type II; Type I has a large scope of limitation, while Type II is more common in practice.
Is 1 the so-called welding on the side? Why does the bracket diagram state that 2 has a higher load-bearing capacity?
The one at the back is better – it’s placed in the middle of the pillar, with iron embedded to keep it in place; the tension rods are properly arranged, and the angle irons look nice
Personally, I think the first option is better, as the welding surface has greater contact with the opposite end, resulting in a higher load-bearing capacity
These two welding bracket methods are those used in different locations in the SCI atlas, on the front and side of the wall; There is no such thing as a better or worse type of bracket; it needs to be chosen based on the installation location. Just ask your structural engineer and you’ll find out ; Then, with the same weld height and length, the second type has better load-bearing performance ; However, a large design margin is provided when using them; the rooting method is primarily chosen based on on-site requirements
The second type applies most of the force to the wall, while the first type applies more of it to the main body
