Under normal circumstances, when connecting smaller pipes to larger ones, we choose pipe fittings such as pipe sockets, reducers, and tees. But if we just make a hole in the large pipe, insert the small pipe, and weld them together without using fittings, how should the height of the weld bead be determined? Should it be set to a low value? Additionally, on the drawings of structural components, many fillet welds are specified based on the thinnest one among them, and there must be upper and lower limits for this thickness as well. I would appreciate some guidance from those with more experience; it would be great if there were a standard source for this. Thank you @FortunatelyYouReHere
I don’t understand; just calculate it! Find the pipeline specification sheet for a previous project and take a look at it.
Is this requirement specified in the specification sheet?
Is there no style specified in the pipeline material grade specification, pipe class?

I seem to have seen it in the material specification document for the pipeline design of a project; you should ask those who are responsible for the pipeline calculations!
It is generally calculated as 0.7 for thin ones. . .
So this must also have upper and lower limits, right?
