I’m seeking help from experts. The issue is as follows: For safety valves in China, in accordance with Annex 3 of TSG R7001 — 2004, \"Rules for Periodic Inspection of Pressure Vessels\", regarding the requirements for safety valve calibration, Section IV: Calibration Cycle and Calibration Items – (1) The calibration cycle for safety valves shall be determined in accordance with Article 17 of the \"Rules for Periodic Inspection of Pressure Vessels\". (II) Newly manufactured safety valves shall be tested for performance before use if necessary. I would like to ask if ASME standards for safety valves have any regulations on this matter? Must it be tested first before use?
Our safety valves, regardless of their markings and even the new ones, must be inspected and calibrated by a professional institution; only after that and after a calibration label is attached can they be installed and put into use.
Are there any relevant regulations from ASME? Because my safety valve is exported abroad, they say that our domestic standards are not applicable there.
Those to be tested must be sent to a professional institution for inspection and calibration; only after a test label is attached can they be installed and put into use
Oh. You are the manufacturer, right? Since it’s not applicable domestically, we’ll just use their local standards.
We are the manufacturer; we produced a batch of ASME safety valves and sent them to Fiji. Upon arrival there, they were installed without any testing. Now it has been found that the opening and closing pressure difference exceeds the specified limits, and they claim that it is our fault for not conducting proper testing, asking me to provide the relevant standards regarding testing requirements before using ASME safety valves. .
Are there any internationally standardized criteria for testing safety valves before use? My safety valve complies with the American standard ASME; the domestic standard is not recognized by them.
It seems we’ll have to deal with your manufacturer about this:L
It feels like we’re going to end up in a debate over this; I’ve found the API RP 576 standard now, but I’m not sure if it’s applicable. . Thanks so much, expert!
To be blunt, weren’t there contractual requirements before ordering the safety valves? For example, size specifications, the standards according to which manufacturing takes place, the standards used for testing, and what kind of reports are issued, etc. Can international orders be accepted even if these aren’t properly handled? I’m a bit impressed by the courage of your factory.
