This is my first time working on a salt packaging project, with powdered salt as the material involved. The installation location is on the discharge pipeline of the powdered salt silo. The client has temporarily decided to use clamp valves, but there are a few issues I’m not sure about; I hope everyone can offer some guidance: 1. Regarding the selection of materials. The information I found online states that the structure of a clamp valve is relatively simple; it only mentions the materials used for the valve body and the hoses. I’m not sure if there are any other components for which material selection is necessary (Our design drawings usually specify the materials for the valve body, valve core, valve seat, and packing.) 2. Regarding the selection of the actuator. Now that a pneumatic actuator has been chosen, I wonder which type of action mechanism should be selected for it? Piston-type? Film type? 3. Online sources claim that clamp valves cause no pressure loss – is that true? ? I’m still inexperienced; this is my first time using a clamp valve. Thank you all for your guidance. The valve body is usually made of iron or aluminum alloy; there is no need to specify the material of the valve core. This valve is suitable only for low-pressure and normal-temperature environments. Applicable media include slurry with particles, etc. As for the drive type, manual operation is commonly used; electric and pneumatic options are available depending on the specific conditions at the site
