The valve materials are 2205 and 2507 respectively; since there needs to be a difference in hardness between the valve seat and the valve disc, it’s not possible to use both of these materials for the valve body. What type of welding rod should be used for surfacing the sealing surfaces? Given the presence of chloride ions, STL probably won’t work – is it feasible to use Inconel for surfacing?
Generally, only austenitic stainless steels are surfaced with cemented carbides; I have not encountered such duplex steels yet. Could someone expert please answer the original poster’s question?

For duplex stainless steel, a normal body seal is sufficient; there is no need to use Inconel for cladding
