Coiled tubing is regarded as the \"universal tool\" in oil and gas exploration and development, and it is indispensable in operations such as well workover, drilling, fracturing, and logging in oil and gas fields. Large-diameter coiled pipes are more widely used; they can be employed in the construction of transportation pipelines for oil and gas extraction on land, as well as in operations such as oil and gas transport and injection of water or gas at offshore oil and gas platforms. Their fatigue and corrosion resistance enable them to function effectively in complex marine environments. Previously, the manufacturing technology for large-diameter thick-walled continuous pipes with a diameter of 88.9 millimeters or more was monopolized by a few international giants. In the face of technical restrictions, Gem Tube Industry established a specialized R&D team to overcome key technologies such as the forming, welding, and coiling of large-diameter thick-walled continuous tubes. This approach ensured precise seam dimensions and accurate parameter control for such tubes, thereby improving the quality of their welds and the stability of the welding process. The coiled tubing launched this time set two records in China: the largest diameter and the thickest wall thickness among such products, breaking foreign monopolies. Its performance meets international advanced standards, marking a breakthrough in this field for China, from scratch.
