I’m new to topics related to control valves, and I have a few questions I’d like to ask. I hope you can kindly provide some guidance. 1. What is the relationship between the rated capacity of a control valve and its rated CV value? 2. Is the limit CV value the maximum CV value? 3. Pneumatic control valves manufactured by FISHER have a 100% opening CV value and a Max CV value, but the Max CV value is lower than the 100% CV value. Why is this?
1. The rated capacity of a control valve (i.e., its flow capacity) and the rated CV value mean the same thing; it’s just a different way of expressing it. 2. The rated CV value represents the flow capacity of the control valve, not its maximum CV value. 3. Generally, the rated CV value of a control valve is greater than its maximum Cv value (where this Cv value is typically determined based on operating conditions)
