I would like to ask about the oxygen-specific valve: J41M-900PL2O – what does each component in its designation mean?
Does it mean an oxygen flanged globe valve, 900 pounds, made of 304 material?
It is to find the meaning represented by each letter symbol.
J is the valve type code, 4 is the connection type code, 1 is the structural type code, M is the sealing surface code, 900 is the pressure code, and PL is the material code
In JB308, J stands for globe valve; it has 4 flange connections, is of the straight-through type; M refers to a sealing surface made of monel alloy; the pressure rating is 900 LB, and PL=304L (where L denotes LOW CARBON). The number 20 likely refers to DN20 – it’s just an estimate. With the continuous emergence of new valve designs, the JB308 standard has many shortcomings and is therefore used less frequently. No one is in charge of the valve industry anymore.
