In our factory, many safety valves for low-temperature liquids use cemented carbide seals, but these seals often get damaged during inspection. The inspection agency recommended switching to soft seals, but will soft seals fail at low temperatures?

The low-temperature shut-off valve for LNG also features a soft seal, namely a cold-treated PTFE seal

I’ve learned about it, and I also think what the people from the Special Inspection Agency said isn’t reliable.
