For valves in styrene media, what type of valve is preferable?
I’ve heard that Japanese processes use soft-sealed designs, but in China, fixed ball carbon steel ball valves with cemented carbide sealing surfaces, such as the Q47Y and PQ47Y types, are used. As for why this approach is adopted, it is up to process engineers and chemical engineering designers to explain. Also, there are slight differences in the length of ball valves among different manufacturers; it is necessary for the purchasing staff to seek quotes from multiple suppliers and provide the pipeline length, after which a decision can be made by considering all options from manufacturers that offer pipelines of the same length.
This is made of 304 stainless steel, right? What is the operating pressure? Have you tried 316L stainless steel?
This is a 2-inch, 300LB flanged gate valve, right?
