Is this stainless steel gate valve severely shoddy in construction?
How can they cut corners? Stainless steel is sufficient for the parts that come into contact with materials
This practice is quite common; it’s normal to exclude those areas that are not used (not accessed directly). This is also a result of competition driven by low prices. What matters is that the quality of use remains guaranteed:D
Sigh, one really should believe that you get what you pay for. When you go to inquire about the price of stainless steel valves, people will ask about their size and weight. By size, they mean that such valves are heavy, large in volume, have a high nickel content, are expensive, and are of higher quality. These products are of medium or even low quality; they are inexpensive, contain little nickel, and are made with inferior materials. They may be barely suitable for use in engineering applications, but they’re not suitable for other applications. Such products are usually of unknown origin, without any after-sales support, and the manufacturers do not provide any warranty or assistance after purchase. So why are so many people willing to pay a high price for products from well-known brands and manufacturers? Is quality truly proportional to the price? For example, many valves produced in Wenzhou come packaged in cloth bags, while valves manufactured in Shanghai are generally packed in wooden boxes.
It cannot be guaranteed to be used safely; its strength is much lower. Can it meet the designed pressure rating? If the design standards are ASME16.34 or API600, it is necessary to check whether the minimum wall thickness is satisfied.
