For example: If it is a nitrogen pipeline with a diameter greater than 150 mm, an operating pressure of 0.09 MPa, and a design pressure of 0.1 MPa, then is it considered a pressure pipeline? I’m confused. According to the definition of pressure pipelines, it is the maximum operating pressure that matters; I’m not sure how to classify the pipelines mentioned above. What I wrote earlier had some issues, so I’ve made corrections. I know the definition of pressure pipelines, but I’m unsure about how to handle such situations in actual work
Nitrogen is a non-toxic, non-flammable gas that cannot be used in pressure pipelines
Pressure pipelines refer to tubular devices that use a certain pressure to transport gases or liquids. They are defined as pipelines with a maximum operating pressure of 0.1 MPa (gauge pressure) or more, whose medium is gas, liquefied gas, steam, or liquids that are flammable, explosive, toxic, corrosive, and have a maximum operating temperature equal to or higher than their standard boiling point; such pipelines also have a nominal diameter of 50 mm or more. Except for pipes with a nominal diameter of less than 150 mm and a maximum operating pressure of less than 1.6 MPa (gauge pressure), as well as the pipes that form part of the equipment used for transporting non-toxic, non-flammable, and non-corrosive gases. Nitrogen is non-toxic, non-flammable, and non-corrosive; therefore, what you mentioned does not fall under the category of pressure pipelines.
I think the problem lies here: how is it possible to design a pipe with a working pressure of 0.9 MPa using a value of 1.0? At least 1.25, I guess.
