First-level standardization problem

Due to the implementation of first-level standardization in the unit, some pressure vessels require dual-valve control. Are there any requirements regarding the material of the connection pipelines between these valves?
Aren’t the two valves connected directly together through a gasket?
Can two ball valves be connected together, similar to DBB valves? Is that not possible?
The same as the pipe, or the same as the valve body material
