To get back to the topic: since it is an experimental setup, the operating conditions vary for different media. However, the operating temperature range is from -25 to 250 degrees. As the materials used for heat retention and insulation are usually different, the thickness required depends on the temperatures involved in heat retention and insulation. So how should one make this choice?
Just use foam glass; check the table and choose the thickest one
