The raw material for one of our company’s products is primarily an organic solvent, and metal stainless-steel pipes are designated for transporting it. However, at key points such as the inlet and outlet of filters as well as the discharge ports, transparent PFA hoses are intended to be used in place of metal pipes locally, to facilitate observation and control and thereby reduce losses. I’ve checked the relevant fire safety regulations, which require that static electricity be able to flow during connections. I was wondering if anyone has similar experience – whether they have used anti-static hose materials or if there are any other methods to address the issue of static electricity
Using transparent PFA hoses to replace the metal pipe sections does indeed pose a problem of static electricity accumulation, as non-metallic materials do not have good electrical conductivity. The methods to solve this problem are as follows: 1. Choose anti-static hoses: There are specialized anti-static PFA hoses available on the market; these hoses contain conductive materials that enable effective electricity conduction and charge discharge. Consider purchasing such products. 2. Grounding measures: Install highly conductive connectors at both ends of the hose, and ensure that the entire system is properly grounded. This allows static electricity to be effectively conducted to the ground, preventing its accumulation. 3. Use static electricity elimination equipment: Installing static eliminators in key locations can help neutralize the static electricity generated during the processing process. 4. Regular inspection and maintenance: Monitor the accumulation of static electricity in the hoses, conduct regular static electricity tests, and replace any aged anti-static hoses. The above methods can be used in combination to ensure the safe and stable operation of the system. .
