When installing pipe clamps, should a plate be welded to the steel structural beam, or are they installed directly on the I-beam? .
Generally, fireproof coating is applied to I-beams, and it’s best to add pipe supports at the bottom
Give priority to adding pipe supports; if there is really no space, they can only be placed on the steel beams as a last resort.
Pipes without insulation can be placed directly on the steel beams of the pipe rack; if pipe clamps are to be used, it is advisable to weld a small angle steel piece as well.
Weld a small piece of steel to the main beam and drill holes in it; no drilling is required on the main beam itself
