As shown in the figure, the retaining washers of the angular contact bearing round nuts installed back to back often break, causing the round nuts to loosen and the inner rings of the bearings to shift. All four units in these two sets of equipment suffer from the same problem. The round nuts are tightened every time – could it be a problem with the strength of the gasket material?

It’s just that the anti-loosening force is concentrated too much; if possible, it’s better to add one or two more anti-loosening points in other locations. Additionally, when tightening the bolts during installation, other methods of securing them may be used; it’s not necessarily true that over-tightening is the best approach. The degree of tightening may not necessarily be sufficient.
Thank you. Then, what other locking methods are commonly used? I suspect that excessive friction and compression between the round nut and the lock washer during tightening may have already caused damage to the locking points.
There is some merit to your analysis; installation problems are likely the most probable cause. By looking at the installation details, finding the cause should allow it to be resolved. Oh, you can tell by checking the direction of damage to the gasket. Or, after installation, remove it for inspection; if it is damaged, then the damage occurred during installation.
