Structural length of PN25 flanged check valve

In GB/T 12221, for PN25 flanged check valves with short and long series, why is the short series longer than the long series for diameters below DN100? I would appreciate some guidance from experts, thank you!
This question is quite simple, as the dimensions stated in the table apply to three types of valves: throttle valves, globe valves, and check valves. However, these three different types of valves do not necessarily have lengths that exactly match those specified. For example, globe valves can be designed in long or short configurations, while check valves can only be used in short configurations; the same applies to throttle valves.
