In winter, the incoming hydrogen gas contains a significant amount of water, causing condensation to form at the lowest points of U-shaped bends such as flow meters and control valves. To prevent freezing, employees regularly drain this water from these low points using drain lines. However, frequent opening and closing of these drain lines raises the risk of leaks in the valve mechanisms.
