The materials of the sealing surfaces are alloy steel on one hand, and cemented carbide steel on the other. If it comes to appearance, it’s hard to tell the difference; the materials are different. As for which one is better, it’s hard to say; each type of valve has a suitable medium, and the one that suits that medium is the good one. H is a bit more expensive than Y; Y has better corrosion resistance, and it is more suitable for high-temperature and steam environments
H refers to martensitic stainless steels, such as those in the 13Cr series – the cheapest type of stainless steel. Y denotes cermets, including YG8 alloy, Hastelloy, Monel alloy, etc. As the name implies, cermets have a much higher hardness, better wear resistance, and greater corrosion resistance compared to H-series materials
In order from lowest to highest, common sealing materials include 13Cr, 304, 316, duplex steel, and cemented carbide

No, 304, 316, 347, 321, and the like are all austenitic stainless steels of the 3 series, which contain relatively few alloying elements, whereas cemented carbides are composed almost entirely of alloying elements
