A coiled glass condenser is used on the reaction vessel (to facilitate observation of the reflux). Sometimes, if the reaction is too intense, the flowing material can break the coils inside, rendering them useless! Are there any good devices or methods that can avoid this or serve as a substitute for it?

It’s a matter of operation; be careful during use and material overflow generally won’t occur. We have done format responses before as well
It’s definitely fine under normal conditions; otherwise, they wouldn’t install such glass condensers! It’s that sometimes, due to bad weather or other factors, it won’t start at first; but once it does start running, it operates at full intensity and ends up breaking the coil!
Dry the reactor before starting production to ensure it is dry; there should be no issues with that
Bro, is your reaction uncontrollable? If the uncontrolled influx of material causes damage to the coil, then you can control the reaction temperature or switch to a dropwise addition reaction method.
The Grignard reaction is initiated – it hasn’t been industrialized yet, right? Sometimes it’s due to abnormal conditions, high humidity, or unknown factors! We have been doing this for almost 10 years; in that time, the coils have been punctured 3 times. Sometimes there is material surge, but the coils don’t get punctured!
What about installing an inlet self-acting control valve on the glass coil?
Preheating is necessary in normal circumstances to prevent interruptions; it is recommended to replace the heat exchanger with a stainless-steel one and add a sight glass. Additionally, factors such as temperature and pressure come into play. The old methods of carrying out operations based on visual observations are now obsolete – nowadays, many processes are controlled by PLCs and DCS systems.
