Meaning of specifications for socket-welded gate valves

On the design drawings, the specifications for the socket-welded gate valve are PN16 DN15 Φ22. Does this mean that both the inlet and outlet of the valve are welded using Φ22 pipes, with the valve body itself having a diameter of DN15, or does it mean that one end of the valve is connected to a pipe with a DN15 diameter and the other end to a pipe with a Φ22 diameter?
I know that 22 refers to the pipe diameter. What does DN15 mean here? Does it refer to the diameter of the valve?
