Recently, I heard from the contractors that for large-diameter pipes (DN700 and above), welding between the pipes and the pipe supports is carried out in a segmented, continuous manner (for example, 10 centimeters of welding every 20 centimeters). This approach is used whether the pipe support is fixed, guiding, or sliding, as it is believed that extensive welding on the pipes could affect their strength. However, when discussing this with some design firms, they stated that their design documents require full welding throughout, citing regulatory requirements as the reason. I’d like to see how everyone handles this issue in their daily work
Flammable and explosive media that require clamping connections must not be welded. These are the corrective action suggestions provided by the HAZOP analysis review team.

Follow the design requirements. Generally, continuous welding is required; there must be no interruptions (this is different from the requirement for full welding). The fixed bracket must be fully welded.
