Issues with foreign bolt and nut materials such as A194 Gr 8MA grade

Hello, everyone on this forum. Regarding A194 Gr 8MA, the material of the nuts – what does the letter A stand for? Why, when domestic materials cite the A194 standard, is it always written as 8M without the “A”? Thank you!
I took a quick look – 8M and 8MA exist in the American standards, while those used in China don’t have the ‘A’ suffix. Could someone with expertise please explain this? The same is true for 35Crmo: the HG standard does not include A, while the SH standard includes it
