Experts: Is spectral testing required before installing stainless steel pipes? It’s specified in which standard. I would appreciate your advice.
It is needed. Refer to Article 5.1.6 of the \"Code for Construction and Acceptance of Steel Piping Projects for Toxic and Flammable Media in Petrochemical Industries\" (SH 3501-2011) and Article 4.1.4 of the \"Code for Construction of Industrial Metal Piping Projects\" (GB 50235-2010)
It depends on what type of stainless steel is used and which construction standards apply; SH3501 and GB50517 do not require inspection upon arrival for austenitic stainless steels that do not contain Mo, while stainless steels containing Mo need to be inspected before being brought in. GB50184 requires that all stainless steel materials be inspected before they are brought into use
