For on-site piping construction, the flange material is F22, the valve material is TP347, and the octagonal gasket material is F5. I would like to ask if this selection is appropriate? Generally, shouldn’t an octagonal pad be made of a softer material?
Check the temperature and pressure of the medium in the pipeline
F22: 12Cr1MoV; F5: 2Cr5Mo. Please verify the warranty certificate on site.

Who said that octagonal pads should be made of a softer material? The octagonal gasket has a thread seal and should be made of a hard material.
If the hardness of the octagonal gasket is too high, the flange seal is prone to damage; therefore, it is generally required that the hardness of the octagonal gasket be about 30HB lower than that of the flange
F22 should be 2.5Cr0.5Mo (probably Cr2.5Mo0.5); 12CrMov has nothing to do with F22, and F5 is equivalent to 1Cr5Mo
