From pipe ducts to residential modular houses, bamboo-wrapped composite materials – a new type of bio-based material made using bamboo as the base material and resin as the adhesive through a wrapping process – are finding increasing applications in various industries. To reduce the environmental and health threats posed by plastic pollution, using bamboo as a substitute for plastic offers a path that can be explored. Previously, multiple departments jointly issued a three-year action plan to accelerate the development of using bamboo as a substitute for plastic, focusing on advancing the deep processing of bamboo, product design and manufacturing, as well as the expansion of market applications. Peng Shiguo, president of the Bamboo Wound Composite Materials Industry Branch of the China Forest Products Industry Association, explained that the density of bamboo wound composite materials is only one-ninth that of steel, yet their tensile strength can reach half that of steel ； It functions perfectly in environments ranging from minus 40 degrees Celsius to plus 90 degrees Celsius. More importantly, it is a \"negative carbon\" material – for every ton of product produced, 1.5 tons of carbon dioxide can be sequestered. Bamboo-wrapped composite materials are being rapidly adopted in various industries. By 2025, the total output value of the bamboo winding industry will reach 380 million yuan. To date, approximately 700 kilometers of bamboo-wrapped composite pipeline ducts have been installed nationwide, with 1,100 kilometers in pending orders
