(1) Increase the gas flow rate; this is the most important method to prevent surge. During operation, it is necessary to avoid running in the surge zone at flow rates below the surge flow rate. When surge occurs, efforts should be made to immediately increase the flow rate (by opening the outlet vent valve or the inlet/outlet bypass valve, or by reducing the outlet pressure). First, eliminate the danger, then determine the cause of the surge; only if the equipment is not damaged can normal operation be resumed. (2) Based on the performance curve, control the anti-surge margin and properly set the anti-surge valve. Before increasing pressure and speed, the operating point changes should be determined based on the performance curve, with control carried out in accordance with the anti-stall safety margin.
