Can Honeywell’s DCS determine the on/off status of the XV valve by looking at the curves?
I have never seen this curve; you can determine it based on the pressure, flow rate, level, or current of the instruments on the upstream and downstream equipment. Additionally, the operation instruction records for this cut-off valve can be found to see if it has been operated by anyone. PK3 system.
The DCS can determine whether the switch is in the correct position; even on older Honeywell DCS systems, it is possible to see the status of the switch. Additionally, it is possible to judge whether the valve is operating properly by considering the time taken for the switch to change state
I forgot to mention that if the valve stem on the shut-off valve doesn’t rotate properly, there will be no feedback, but the operation commands can still be retrieved. (You can ask the gauge technician in detail to find out.)
