Can valves be installed during the hydraulic testing of pipes?
Pipeline pressure testing must be carried out in conjunction with valve pressure testing; the purpose of this testing is mainly to verify whether components such as welds, flanges, and valve seals meet the required standards. The individual pressure testing of valves is also divided into two types: one is to check the tightness between the valve stem and the valve port inside the valve, and the other is to test whether the dynamic seal between the valve stem and the valve body is up to standard when the valve is opened. If the test pressure for the valve is equal to that of the pipeline, they can generally be pressurized together; however, if the test pressure for the pipeline is higher than that of the valve, it is generally not recommended to pressurize them together.
