The flange specified in the customer’s order is made of 20#, but currently flanges are generally made from A105 material. The material can be replaced; it’s just that the material certificate should state 20#. Can the raw material from the steel manufacturer used be A105? Thank you
A105 is a US standard designation, where A refers to ordinary carbon structural steel. Standard name: Carbon steel forgings for pipe fittings. Since this standard specifies only one type of carbon steel forging, A105 is also considered a carbon steel grade for forgings. A105 is also a material code; it belongs to special steels and is a type of cold-forged steel. A105 is a low-carbon steel forging, whose mechanical properties lie between those of 20 Number forged steel and 16Mn forged steel. Chemical composition: C: ≤0.35, Si: ≤0.35, Mn: 0.6–1.05, S: ≤0.050, P: ≤0.040. Note: In piping systems, A105 can generally replace grade 20, but grade 20 cannot fully replace A105 due to the significant difference in strength. Different intensity differences determine different product structures!
