Basically, any material with a low carbon content can be welded; the key lies in the choice of welding rod. For example, WCB plus stainless steel, or STL; QT450 plus stainless steel or copper – all of these can be welded. Q235 and WCB can also be welded, and they are both low-carbon steels. It depends on the technician’s understanding of the welding materials
We can say that 235 and WCB have the same alloy composition, and welding is not an issue either; however, their standard designations are different. ================================= WCB is cast carbon steel, while the forged version of WCB is A105. What is written on the valve indicates the material of the valve body. WCB is an American grade, equivalent to ZG280-520 in China.
