Parallel connection of electric butterfly valve actuators

The actuator does not allow the power cables of two or more electric devices to be connected in parallel, nor can the same contact be used to control multiple electric devices, as this will lead to loss of control and motor overheating. Is this standard universal? Is it actually possible to connect two actuators in parallel, with one control signal controlling multiple valves?
An electric actuator is essentially a reversible stepper motor; you should think about it in the same way as a conventional motor.
