Hydrogen transmission pipelines are important infrastructure for the development of the hydrogen energy industry; they enable the transport of high-purity hydrogen from production sites to consumption sites, allowing for long-distance and large-scale delivery of hydrogen energy. The hydrogen transport pipeline for the photovoltaic hydrogen production project in the Shanghaimiao Economic Development Zone of Ejin Horoq Front Banner, operated by Shenneng, and constructed by Gezhouba Oil & Gas Company, which is part of China Energy Engineering Group Gezhouba Mechanical and Electrical Company, is located in the Shanghaimiao Economic Development Zone of Ejin Horoq Front Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It represents the first green hydrogen transport pipeline in this region, and its purpose is to transport hydrogen from the photovoltaic hydrogen production facility at the Shenneng plant to the Runyang Yueda plant. Hydrogen is prone to permeation and leakage, which requires extremely high levels of sealing for hydrogen transmission pipelines. Since the project started on September 20, Gezhouba Oil and Gas Company has attached great importance to it, making full use of its professional expertise and technical capabilities. In response to the high sealing requirements associated with hydrogen transport, the project team implemented strict welding procedures to ensure the strength and sealing quality of the welds; TIG welding was used for the root pass, filling passes, and finish pass. Tests showed that the welding quality of the pipes was 100% satisfactory. Once the hydrogen transmission pipeline for the photovoltaic hydrogen production project in the Shanghai Miao Economic Development Zone of Ejin Horo Front Banner, Deep Energy, is completed, it will fill the gap in hydrogen transportation in the Ordos region of Inner Mongolia, providing strong impetus for the development of the hydrogen industry chain there.
