A wafer-type check valve is a type of check valve. A check valve is a valve whose valve disc opens and closes automatically due to the flow of the medium itself, and it is used to prevent the backflow of the medium. It is also known as a non-return valve, one-way valve, reverse flow valve, and backpressure valve. A check valve is a type of automatic valve whose main function is to prevent the backflow of fluid, to stop the pump and its driving motor from rotating in reverse, and to prevent the leakage of fluid from containers. Check valves can also be used in pipelines that supply auxiliary systems whose pressure may rise above the system pressure. The wafer check valve is lightweight and compact, making it easy to install between flanges. Its interior consists of two semi-circular springs and a plate, which are fixed to the valve body with pins. The deformation of the springs causes the valve plate to close, while fluid pressure opens it again. The rapid deformation of the springs helps to protect the pipeline from damage caused by water hammer. Precautions for installing wafer check valves: 1. When installing the pipeline, ensure that the flow direction of the wafer check valve is consistent with the direction of the fluid flow ; 2. Installed in vertically positioned pipelines; for horizontally positioned pipelines, vertically mounted wafer-type check valves ; 3. Use a flexible tube between the wafer check valve and the butterfly valve; never connect them directly to other valves ; 4. Avoid adding pipe fittings and obstructions within the operating radius of the valve plate ; 5. Do not install a reducer in front of or behind the wafer-type check valve ; 6. When installing a wafer-type check valve near a elbow, make sure to leave enough space ; 7. When installing a wafer-type check valve at the pump outlet, provide at least six times the valve diameter of space to ensure that the butterfly disc is subjected to the action of the fluid.
It is very important to pay attention to the issues related to the use and installation of wafer-type check valves
