Each specification of Emerson flowmeters has its own flow range; in other words, when the flow rate of the medium is below the lower limit, the flow velocity is too low to enable flow measurement or to ensure accuracy; When the flow rate exceeds the upper limit, for TDS helical flow meters, this results in excessive pressure loss, pulse loss, and undercounting; even if there is no undercounting, the meter cannot maintain accuracy. Therefore, when selecting a flow meter, it is necessary to ensure that the operating flow rate falls within the range covered by the flow meter. The flow range for flowmeters of various specifications is specified in the manual. Emerson flowmeters are used in harsh environmental conditions with disturbances such as vibration and pulsation. Therefore, when the flow meter is frequently operating at the lower flow limit, it is difficult to ensure measurement accuracy. Therefore, the operating flow range of the flow meter should generally be set between 20%Qmax and 90%Qmax (where Qmax is the maximum flow rate under the most severe operating conditions of the flow meter). When the operating conditions are suitable, the flow meter can operate within the range of Qmin-Qmax, but this takes into account only the flow range of the meter. If used in a low-pressure medium, the effect of pressure loss should also be considered. When pressure loss is a requirement for the flow meter, the pressure factor should be taken into account.
