I would like to ask everyone: what should be the surface roughness of the steam purge target plate before purging?
The target testing for steam purging is primarily used to check for pits and debris on the target plate; therefore, it is necessary to achieve a smooth surface finish, with N4 being sufficient.
What kind of pressure and what kind of hard impurities are needed to leave marks on the target plate? The usual purging test involves a layer of white cloth or white oil applied to the surface of the target plate. I’ve really never seen such a type of purging before; it would be great if more details could be shared, so I can learn more about it :)

The newly installed steam pipes, mainly those used for the turbine, require a very high level of cleanliness; if they are not thoroughly cleaned to the required standard, it can quickly damage the turbine. The impurities in the pipeline are mainly rust and slag; at high flow rates, the impact marks on the target plate are very distinct.
Generally, the cleaning is continued until it seems clean enough before the target plate is installed. At first, cleaning is done directly; too many impurities are removed in this way, so no target plate is used.
