The steam fire protection pipeline of the cooling tower can be led to the ground with a purging connection, from which it can be connected to a nearby hose station when needed. rather than being drawn from the steam main. Is it okay to do this?
It is not recommended; Article 8.8.2 of GB50160 explicitly requires that fire-fighting steam should be introduced from the top of the main pipe. Imagine that in an emergency, if the personnel on the tower platform need to use steam to extinguish a fire, they have to go to the ground first to connect the hoses – this certainly poses operational risks.
