What type of gasket would be suitable for use in pipes where hot air serves as the medium? The flanges are male and female type, with a diameter range of DN500 to 1000; the maximum temperature is 725°C and the pressure is 2.5 MPa (corresponding to a Class 900 flange). What kind of gasket is appropriate, and are there any relevant standards? It’s best to be able to withstand multiple disassemblies (three times a week), rather than being the type that needs to be replaced after just one disassembly. I checked HG 20632; both the metal wound gasket with flexible graphite and the toothed composite gasket with a covering can only be used at 650°C.
It doesn’t seem to be designed for use on uneven surfaces where it can be removed and reinstalled up to three times without needing to be replaced. Even with a steel ring groove flange, the steel ring cannot guarantee not needing to be replaced three times.
At 700 degrees, flat flanges can use stainless steel wound gaskets or toothed gaskets. For heat resistance, check the 316 material.
In your case, a metal ring gasket should be used. The temperatures of the other gaskets do not meet your requirements. What material is used for your pipes? You can refer to the pipe material when making a choice; the gasket parameters are shown in the diagram below, HG/T20633

The American standard for flanges specifies that the maximum operating temperature for flange connections is 538 degrees
You don’t understand correctly; it’s only the case that materials require special treatment at temperatures above 538 degrees, which doesn’t mean that they can’t be used at such high temperatures.
First of all, three times a week is a bit frequent. Generally, gaskets need to be replaced with new ones once they are removed. When the gasket is used again, there is a problem with loss of resilience; the wrapping strips inside become loose after multiple uses. Using metal gaskets so frequently can damage the flanges.
