Pressure selection for series and parallel connection of safety valves and rupture discs
I have a question I’d like to discuss with the original poster: if a safety valve and a burst disc are used in series, what should be the installation order of the safety valve and the burst disc? ? Is it the order of container-safety valve-rupture disc or container-rupture disc-safety valve? What is the difference between the two orders? How should the set pressures of the safety valves and rupture discs be determined for the two sequences? ?
We are all containers – rupture disks – safety valves, which helps to prevent leaks inside the safety valves.
Safety valves are connected in series; the burst pressure ranges of the burst discs when connected in parallel
The rupture disc is connected in series with the safety valve at a position within five times the pipe diameter from the inlet of the safety valve; the rupture disc can also be connected both in series and in parallel with the safety valve. The rupture pressure of the rupture disc is determined as explained in the first two images
