In my project, there is a medium-pressure boiler feed pump with the following specifications: rated flow rate of 185 m³/h, head of 566 m, inlet pressure of 0.35 MPa, outlet pressure of 6.0 MPa, and the temperature of the medium is around 139 degrees Celsius. The management instructed us to give priority to magnetic pumps when selecting options; however, based on experience, they seem unreliable, due to issues such as demagnetization at high temperatures and bearing cooling problems. Which specific parameters do not apply to this operating condition? I hope the expert can give some guidance; thank you!
139°C is a bit too high for a magnetic pump
May I ask, is there a relatively clear specified upper temperature limit for magnetic drives?
The upper limit is unknown; it depends on the medium and the materials used. For water, it works fine at temperatures below 100°C; higher temperatures might reach around 110 or 120°C at most, as 139°C is very difficult to achieve
