Stop valves and check valves are two types of valves with completely different functions, and they also differ greatly in appearance. So, which is more expensive, a stop valve or a check valve? Under the same conditions of material, diameter, and pressure, globe valves are more expensive than check valves. What are the differences between check valves and globe valves? 1. Different types of valves exist; globe valves belong to the category of valves with forced sealing. When such valves are closed, pressure must be applied to the valve disc in order to ensure that the sealing surfaces do not leak ; A check valve is a type of automatic valve in which the opening of the valve disc, which serves as the closing element, requires pressure from the medium, while its closing is achieved through the weight of the valve disc itself or spring pressure. 2. Their functional purposes are different. A check valve is a valve whose valve disc opens and closes automatically due to the flow of the medium itself, and it is used to prevent the medium from flowing in reverse. It is also known as a non-return valve, one-way valve, backflow valve, and backpressure valve. A check valve is a type of automatic valve whose main function is to prevent the backflow of fluid, stop the pump and driving motor from rotating in reverse, and prevent the leakage of fluid from containers. Stop valves are used to shut off and regulate flow. Due to the low friction between the sealing surfaces during operation, they are durable; they require little clearance for opening, are easy to manufacture, and convenient to maintain. They are suitable not only for medium and low pressures but also for high pressures. The closing principle of a globe valve is to rely on the pressure from the valve stem to bring the sealing surface of the valve disc into close contact with the sealing surface of the valve seat, thereby preventing the flow of the medium.
