Recently, the appraisal meeting for the scientific and technical achievements of the project \"Development and Application of Multi-Channel Plunger Valves for Slurry Bed Vacuum Residue Hydrogenation Units\", which was led by Sinopec Engineering Construction Co., Ltd. and carried out jointly by Sinopec Maoming Branch, CNNC Su Valve Technology & Industry Co., Ltd., and Beijing Aerospace Petrochemical Technology & Equipment Engineering Co., Ltd., was successfully held in Langfang, Hebei. The expert panel of this appraisal committee is composed of experts from organizations such as the China General Machinery Industry Association, the National Valve Standardization Technical Committee, the Science and Technology Department of Sinopec, Sinopec’s Refining Division, Lanzhou University of Technology, Sinopec Luoyang Engineering Co., Ltd., and Hefei General Machinery Research Institute Co., Ltd. Relevant leaders and staff from Sinopec Engineering Construction Co., Ltd., Sinopec Maoming Branch, CNNC Su Valve Technology & Industry Co., Ltd., and Beijing Aerospace Petrochemical Technology & Equipment Engineering Co., Ltd. attended the event. At the meeting, experts from the evaluation committee listened to an overview of the project and a summary of its development, and reviewed the relevant technical documents. Following inquiries and discussions, the appraisal committee concluded that the development and application of multi-channel plunger valves have achieved the technical goals set for domestic production; their key performance parameters are on par with those of advanced international products of similar type, filling a gap in China’s market. The economic and social benefits are significant, and the committee agreed to approve these valves, recommending that their widespread adoption be accelerated.
According to a report from December 13, 2019, the first batch of multi-channel plunger valves for the 2.6 million tons per year slurry-bed residue hydrocracking unit at Sinopec Maoming Company, which were manufactured by China National Nuclear Technology Corporation, has successfully passed the acceptance tests! It is understood that the 2.6 million tons per year slurry-bed residue hydrocracking unit is a key project for Sinopec Maoming Company to optimize its product portfolio; it is also a major project under Sinopec’s development plans. Additionally, it represents the first domestic facility for the in-depth processing of heavy crude oil. The plug valve for slurry-bed residue hydrogenation developed by China National Nuclear Technology Corporation has successfully passed the acceptance tests, marking a creative breakthrough in the company’s capabilities in valve design and manufacturing in this field. It represents a high level of technical expertise, and the company has accumulated extensive experience and achievements in design, research and development, as well as production. It now possesses a unique manufacturing process for plug valves used in slurry-bed residue hydrogenation in oil refining projects.
