A few days ago, I prepared selection plans for large-diameter electric fluorinated rubber butterfly valves for clients, with diameters of 2.4 meters, 2.6 meters, and 2.8 meters respectively. If it’s made of metal, it’s not that special – although it’s not commonly used, it can still be seen quite often. However, those made with fluorinated lining are less common. The customer initially requested that PFA be used throughout, but taking into account factors such as the sealing between the valve disc and the seat, we made some adjustments later on. We’re now waiting for the bidding results from the client; this client always wins the bid with the lowest price.
The sizes of electric butterfly valves commonly available on the market currently range from several dozen millimeters to one or two meters, while the electric fluoropolymer-lined butterfly valves with diameters of 2.4 meters, 2.6 meters, and 2.8 meters that you mentioned belong to a very large size category. Such large-diameter fluorinated butterfly valves are relatively rare; they usually need to be custom-made, as their production and transportation are both complex and costly. If you are already able to supply butterfly valves of this specification, it is likely rare in the market, giving you a certain competitive advantage. .
Thank you for your reply. You are absolutely right – such large-sized products are not commonly used; they indeed require customization, and their production is also quite challenging. Factories that lack the necessary capabilities and experience cannot produce them!
What we mainly produce are butterfly valves with full-metal, hard-sealing designs; those lined with fluoropolymer are not part of our product range.
