On April 18, the super-long titanium alloy coiled tubing manufacturing facility of Guangdong Guoyin Titanium Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Guoyin Titanium Energy”), located in Jieyuan Village, Minzhong Street, Zhongshan City, was officially completed. This marks the onset of the countdown to the commissioning of China’s first industrialization base for titanium alloy coiled tubing that integrates production and manufacturing, talent training, product research and development, as well as testing and certification. Such a base will provide essential support for the development of deep oil and gas resources in China as well as for the upgrading of its high-end manufacturing industry. The manufacturing facility for ultra-long titanium alloy coiled tubing has officially reached its roof-crowning stage. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Guangdong Fuweide Welding Co., Ltd., a **highly specialized and innovative “little giant” enterprise**, Guoyin Titanium Energy leverages its parent company’s 16 years of experience in welding technology. In collaboration with top research institutions such as the China National Research Institute of Metals and the Engineering Materials Research Institute of China National Petroleum Corporation, it has established a smart manufacturing demonstration base for titanium alloy coiled tubing. The project officially commenced construction at the end of October 2023. With a total investment of 500 million yuan, it covers an area of 41 mu, and its total construction area exceeds 60,000 square meters. The construction includes 3 production workshops, 1 R&D building, as well as supporting facilities such as warehouses. Once the project reaches full production capacity, it is expected to generate an annual output value of 830 million yuan and bring in an additional 110 million yuan in taxes, thus serving as an important driver for the Torch High-Tech Zone in developing clusters of strategic emerging industries. Minmin Street, where the project is located, is situated at the geometric center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It is adjacent to major transportation routes such as the Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway and the Fanyu-Zhongshan Highway, offering both advantages in terms of industrial clustering and logistical convenience. As a project designated as a \"strategically critical task\" for priority development in the Torch High-Tech Zone, its completion will further strengthen Zhongshan’s leading position in the field of high-end equipment manufacturing. As the main entity responsible for attracting investment in titanium energy projects, Zhongshan Zhangjiabian Enterprise Group Co., Ltd. provides \"nanny-style\" services to ensure the successful implementation and construction of such projects. It offers a full range of services throughout the process, including site selection, handling of approval procedures, and provision of relevant policies, thereby helping enterprises to start construction as soon as they acquire the land. Titanium alloy coiled tubing is an ideal alternative to traditional steel coiled tubing, thanks to its advantages such as low weight (with a density of only 57% that of steel), strong corrosion resistance, and high fatigue life. Through independent innovation, the project’s R&D team achieved three key breakthroughs: deep penetration under extreme conditions, ultra-long welding processes, and high-pressure fatigue resistance. In addition, the project will establish a research institute for titanium alloy coiled tubing, as well as the first mandatory standard certification laboratory in the country, to promote the development of industry technical standard systems. The industrial application of titanium alloy coiled tubing not only provides critical material support for the development of oil and gas resources in China, but also drives related industries such as welding and titanium alloy processing toward higher-end development. In the future, as these projects come online, the Torch High-Tech Zone will develop a complete industrial chain that spans material research and development, equipment manufacturing, as well as testing and certification, thereby injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of the manufacturing sector in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
