Two innovative technologies from CNPC Pipeline Bureau Research Institute have been granted invention patents

Recently, it was learned from the **Intellectual Property Office that two innovative technologies developed by the Pipeline Bureau’s Research Institute have been granted invention patents. One of these is a welding method for supercritical carbon dioxide transmission pipelines, which addresses the issue in existing technologies where the low-temperature impact toughness of the ring welds in such pipelines leads to brittle fracture at low temperatures. 2 A welding test system and method based on multi-specification test plates can provide a stable welding trajectory for wire testing; by using the same welding power source and mechanical fixture design, welding of test plates of different specifications can be carried out without changing the welding parameters. This technology effectively ensures the stability and consistency of the welding process; it improves welding accuracy and efficiency, reduces labor costs, and enhances the working environment. The patenting of these two technologies reflects the innovation capabilities and technical expertise of the Pipeline Bureau Research Institute in the field of pipeline welding technology. The institute will continue to work on advancing key technologies, fostering innovation, improving the quality of its patents, and transforming its innovative advantages into intellectual property advantages, thereby providing strong support for research activities
