How much soda ash is generally added when adding sulfur?

Currently, we’re adding about 20 tons of sulfur along with one pack of soda ash – that’s ten times more than before. The boss insists that we control the acidity levels. What will be the consequences of adding more soda ash? Will it increase the resistance within the system?
Alkaline neutralization will form sodium salts, which can easily clog the waste heat boiler; adding lime is a better option.
