Our company’s hydrogen chloride treatment unit has been using Mengmoke acid mist collectors for four years, and based on the performance over these four years, the system has remained relatively stable. Due to a lack of understanding regarding the service life of its filter elements, it was observed this year that the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the catcher was on the decline; this pressure difference dropped from 0.7 kPa to 0.4 kPa. Based on the analysis data, there has been no increase in the moisture content of chlorine gas. I would like to ask the experts whether the filter element might get damaged? Through what aspects can it be analyzed and judged? What is the required value for this pressure difference in terms of process control? Thank you!
First of all, a problem with the acid mist collector does not affect the moisture level; If the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the collector decreases under the same electrolysis load, possible reasons: 1. Instrument display malfunction ; 2. The liquid seal tube at the bottom inside the compensator came loose, causing a partial short circuit ; 3. The filter screen of the complementator is damaged, causing partial short circuits ; The uncollected chlorine caused a short circuit, with the result being a significant amount of acidic sludge in various parts of the chlorine compressor.
